The Klausen at 1,948m is one of Switzerland's oldest pass roads — narrow, twisting, and untouched by modern widening. The north side from Altdorf climbs through the Schächental with views you'd expect from a pass 500m higher. The south side drops into Linthal through tight forest corners. Surface is decent but narrow: two wide cars will not pass comfortably on the hairpins. This is a road for smaller sports cars, not GT cruisers. Historic hillclimb route — the Klausenrennen ran here from 1922 to 1934. Rarely crowded. One of Switzerland's underrated gems.
