The A9 between Munich and Ingolstadt is the closest thing to a free pass you'll find without crossing into Switzerland. Derestricted for most of its 70km run, light traffic on weekday mornings before 07:00, and a surface that BMW clearly had input on. Three lanes in each direction for most of the stretch. Sit in the outside lane at anything over 200 and you'll understand what German engineering was made for. Avoid Friday afternoons — Munich is emptying. The Langenbruck rest stop around km 45 has decent coffee. Not scenic, but that's not why you're here.
